My grandpa used to draw this duck on not only my hand as a child but on the hands of all the children in the family and the neighborhood that flocked at my grandparent’s home. There was always food to share, room for one more person, and a sense that everyone belonged. My parents built a home much the same way. I am inspired by the generosity ad care that my grandpa’s duck holds, creating clothing, furniture, and everyday essentials for children, usually in collaboration with my family, for joy and a lot of use.
