Bale commemorates the setting sun over shining fields of wheat baled across Southern Ohio in winter. The artwork features toilet paper dipped in resin and wound into layered forms resembling bales of wheat. These resin-wound bales are then cut in half and placed within an abandoned pool pit, now filled with accumulated rain and melted snow from the winter season. As the sun sets, the bales catch the fading light, reflecting gold that activates the abandoned space.
